GREEN TEA
Green tea is the fav of my tea collection. I start off every morning with a cup of this green tea I got from a random Asian green grocer in Box Hill. I've tried all kinds of 'super market' brand green teas but I feel as if you aren't really getting your full 'green tea experience' while drinking them. When you're drinking or buying green tea always think, the greener the better! Yes, green tea has caffeine but it has a lot less caffeine than coffee. Green tea has something that's called 'L-Theanine', which helps with relaxation and focus, thus is the better option over coffee, especially .if you're sensitive to caffeine. In the long run, green tea can prevent a whole range of cancer and diseases, including Parkinson's disease and in fact, green tea can help you loose weight too! It not only enhances your metabolic rate, but also increases fat burning. Scientific studies have shown that it can increase your total energy expenditure by 4% and although this isn't very much, over time (months or a year), it would definitely show some significance in weight loss.
LEMON AND GINGER
Lemon and ginger comes second in my favourite teas and is one of the only teas I can stand drinking cold (which is perfect for summer). I've only ever found one super market brand that I enjoy which is Twinning's Lemon and Ginger, but if none tickle your fancy it's quite simple to make. L&G tea can aid in digestion as well as reliving an upset stomach or tummy pains. It's also perfect if you have a cold, lemon as we know contains a hell of a lot of vitamin-C which will help boost your immune system - while the ginger helps to sooth any discomfort from colds, especially sore throats. Just like green tea, L&G tea can also boost not only your metabolism but your circulation too, as well as easing headaches.
D.I.Y
With everything health related, the all natural way is always the best option. There's countless amounts of recipes online to make your own tea and as long as you have an infuser like the black one above, you're all set! We grow a lot of different herbs at home which individually, have their benefits health wise, so all I do is have a bit of a play around with what goes well with what, pour some boiling water in and viola, home made tea! It's simple, tastes great (much better than anything bought dare I say) and having such a gorgeous tea set is a definitely huge encouragement.
